Intergenerational Worship

Sunday Mornings at 10:00am

We gather each week in a spirit of welcome where persons of all ages are present together to create community and grow in their faith.

Our traditional style worship service features positive preaching, prayer, uplifting liturgy, a time for the young and young at heart, special music, and congregational hymns played on our powerful pipe organ.

A time of fellowship with wonderful food follows worship every Sunday in the Parlor or on the church grounds in front of the Sanctuary.

Sunday School

We offer Sunday School for elementary age children on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. The children and teachers leave worship together after the choral anthem. Our lessons are upbeat and interactive.

Prayer and Meditation

Our Chapel and Sanctuary are open Tuesday-Friday from 9:00am to 2:00pm for personal prayer and meditation.

Prayer shawls are available in the chapel on each chair. You are welcome to take one with you as a reminder that God loves you and is present with you when you pray and rest.

A brochure with a self guided walk of St. Johnsbury is available at our welcome centers. We sometimes offer group walks in which we pray for our community together.

Community Prayer Walk

Labyrinth

Our Labyrinth is outside between the Sanctuary and the perimeter wall at the corner of Main Street and Church Street. All are welcome to enjoy this space for personal meditation and prayer.

In the center of the Labyrinth is our peace pole celebrating how God is at work through many religions and cultures.

Communion

Communion is open to all people. Membership or a profession of faith is not required. We observe communion on the first Sunday of the month during our Sunday morning worship service. The elements are typically served to each person in the congregation where they are seated.

Lord of hosts! to Thee we raise

Here a house of prayer and praise;

Thou Thy people's hearts prepare,

Here to meet for praise and prayer.

May many here be fed

With Thy Word, the heavenly bread;

Here, we know that all are blest,

Help us all whatever our quest.

Here to Thee a cathedral stands,

In the midst of rivers and mountainous lands;

Here reveal Thy mercy sure,

While the sun and moon endure.

Hallelujah! earth and sky

To the joyful sound reply:

Hallelujah! hence ascend

Prayer and praise 'till time shall end.
